NYC with Teens
Taking the teens to New York City was a scary one for me. I had never been and I was pretty overwhelmed. I would suggest staying within walking distance to Times Square and the Theater District. We stayed at the Yotel New York in Times Square for 2 nights. Great location. No frills but still has a modern vibe that the kids loved! Day 1 – We took the five minute walk to Times Square to see the shopping and lights! It was seriously impressive and it felt like the trip was already worth it. We checked out the famous FAO Schwarz, M&M store, Nickelodean store and much more! We…

3 Days in DC with Teens
Doing DC with teens is all about planning how to see the most while walking the least. I’ve taken my kids to DC a few times, but I’ve found the best ages to go are the early teen years. They are probably studying some history in school and finally old enough to do some walking without (much) crying. There is so much to see in DC and most of it is free. I suggest going in the spring if you can for the best walking weather and chance to see the beautiful popping cherry blossoms. We started at the impressive Lincoln Memorial and reflecting pool. Next we walked just 5…

Fire & Iceland
Iceland feels like another planet, or maybe the moon! The landscape is truly spectacular, and without trees you can see for miles. I flew overnight on Wow Air https://wowair.us/ direct from Boston. It was an extremely inexpensive flight. No frills. No tvs. They charge a lot for baggage, even for a carry on, but it was still the cheapest flight option, by far. I saw the green dancing northern lights from the plane and felt like my trip was already worth it, before I even arrived in Iceland! I got off the plane in the pitch dark November morning hours, jumped on a shuttle from the airport and checked in…

National Parking with Kids
Planning a 2 1/2 week National Parks Trip with the family can be overwhelming. Here’s what we did with our 9 and 10 year old kids: SEDONA, ARIZONA Fly to Phoenix, Arizona and rent a car. From there, drive 3 hours to spiritual Sedona. We stayed for 2 nights at the Enchantment Resort. https://www.enchantmentresort.com This was our most expensive and most indulgent stay with a view of the red rocks. We enjoyed an amazing 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite with a fire place. Orange juice and newspapers were delivered to our door every morning. We hiked to the energy vortexes and lit a candle at the Chapel of the Holy Cross,…
